The article discusses the need for an effective approach to managing diverse patients' health information in order to support both healthcare providers and patients. It highlights the importance of medical information exchange for quality care and notes that the current system at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) is paper-based and prone to errors. To address this, an electronic health record (EHR) system is being developed to facilitate data transfer among healthcare professionals. A cross-sectional study involving HIM professionals at EKSUTH found environmental support for ICT, along with identified benefits and barriers to EHR implementation. The conclusion emphasizes that healthcare information management can improve with the adoption and integration of EHR into services.
