This study investigated the utilisation of digital tools for teaching writing among lecturers of the Use of English in tertiary institutions in South-East, Nigeria. The research explored the influence of gender, age, qualification, years of experience and the type of institution on the utilisation of digital tools. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The sample size of the study is 205, selected through stratified random sampling using the 50% rule of thumb. The sample comprised Use of English lecturers in public and private tertiary institutions in the study area. A well-structured and validated questionnaire with a reliability coefficient (r) of 0.95 was used for data collection. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were employed for data analysis. Also, the effect size for the t-test was estimated using Eta2 (η²). Findings revealed that overall utilisation of digital tools in the teaching of writing are low among lecturers, with no significant differences across demographic variables. The study highlights the need for targeted personal professional development, improved infrastructure and better resource allocation to enhance the adoption of digital tools in teaching L2 writing in higher institutions of learning
