Utilization of Artificial Intelligence's Potentials in Nigeria, for the Transformation of Education in the 21st Century

This paper examines the utilization of Artificial intelligence potentials in Nigeria, for education transformation in the 21^st century. It explains that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the development of computer systems that can perform tasks typically requiring human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making. It also observes that AI fosters learning, reasoning, and problem-solving. Its working system includes data input, pattern identification, learning, and improvement, which are the processes the AI "learns" and adapts, and becomes more skilled and efficient at its designated tasks over time.AI facilitates formative assessments, providing a more holistic view of a student's progress compared to traditional fixed-interval exams. In conclusion, AI tools can automate the grading of assignments, projects, and presentations, applying pre-defined criteria to ensure consistent, fair evaluations and total transformation of education. The paper recommends that Governments should provide Artificial Intelligence facilities in all the institutions of learning in Nigeria, and retrain the teachers/educators on the use of AI to facilitate teaching and assessments, automated grading of assignments, projects, presentations, and applying pre-defined criteria to ensure consistent and fair evaluations, among other things.
