Violent Conflicts and Sustainable Economic Development in South East Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria

This study will examine the intricate relationship between the violent conflict and sustainable economic development in South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research will investigate how violent conflict has impacted economic development in the region, and conversely, how economic factors contribute to the persistence of violent conflict. The finding is expected to reveal that violent conflict has significantly hindered economic development in South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, resulting in widespread poverty, infrastructure destruction, and human capital depletion. Conversely, economic factors such as unemployment, inequality, and resource competition have fueled violent conflict in the region. The study will highlight the need for a comprehensive approach that addresses both the economic and conflict dimensions to achieve sustainable development in South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The research will contribute to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the conflict-development nexus and offers policy recommendations for stakeholders to promote peace and sustainable economic growth in the region
