Voters' Perception of Electoral Anomalies in Africa

This study tests if voters' recognition of the Electoral Management Body (EMB) changes their perception on electoral errors and fraud, and their beliefs on election candidates' statements after the election. This study further examines if voters' trusts on the candidates' statements changes voters' perception on the quality of election. In order to test my hypotheses, this study conducts vignette experiment in survey targeting voters in the Gambia. By manipulating voters' recognition of the EMB with the information on the EMB in a hypothetical election, this experiment examines how voters perception on the election could vary, depending on their recognition of the EMB.
