This recording was made at a wake keeping the night before the funeral of Geoffrey Adjabeng, a clan leader. The men gathered at one of the meeting places in the village and spent the night giving speeches, singing and drinking. This event was recorded by Sammy. No outside observer was present. This recording includes some singing, greeting and conversation. It has not been transcribed or translated. This recording starts with singing. The songs are either in Ewe or in Twi, I am not sure. Then there is some conversation and some drumming at the same time. Then somebody comes in and greets the others and is greeted. This person speaks for a while, every now and then interrupted by other people. In the end some other people speak. I don't know who the speakers are in this recording. Conversation and speeches are in Avatime. The songs are in Ewe or Twi, I am not sure. Several people sing and speak on this recording, but I do not know their names. Sammy records.
