Wind direction is measured at 0.1 Hz using a Gill 2D-type Windsonic anemometer (Campbell® Scientific Instruments). The anemometer is located at 6.0 m height. The wind direction in degrees is recorded as 5 min averages using a CR200 datalogger (Campbell® Scientific Instruments) and distributed as 1 hour averages (UTC). The value reported for 01:00UTC represents the average over the past hour, and so on (the number of values used to compute the average is given for each time step).
