Understand current and future climate hazards for: Burundi, Haiti, Guinea-Bissau, Guinee, Nepal, Niger, Pakistan, Somalia, and Tanzania Methodology
The data gathering uses three data sources to obtain daily climate data (historical and future).
1) CHIRPS for obtaining daily precipitation gridded data;
2) AgERA5 for obtaining minimum and maximum temperatures, solar radiation, and relative humidity;
3) Future Global Circulation Models information (GCM) from CMIP6 [ACCESS-ESM1-5, EC-Earth3-Veg, INM-CM5-0, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MRI-ESM2-0] for the periods 2021-2040 and 2041-2060. Once all the data sources are standardized into 5 km resolution and bias-correction is applied to future daily data, a set of agroclimatic indices are computed to quantify the climate hazards.
