The WorldPop-SubnationalAgeStructDepRatios-v1 code can be used to re-produce the age structure and dependency ratio datasets that are publicly available through the WorldPop Project website (worldpop.org.uk) and WorldPop Dataverse Repository (dataverse.harvard.edu). Refer to the Methods page of the WorldPop Project website for a brief description of the methodology used to produce the age structure and dependecy ratio datasets. Both the datasets and the methods used to produce and validate them are fully described in: Pezzulo et al., Sub-national mapping of population pyramids and dependency ratios in Africa and Asia. Scientific Data (under review).
