Abstract
As the recitation by an Qsun priestesses clearly shows, the beautiful river goddess of the Yoruba, Qsun, plays many roles; not only is she a savior and a healer, it is she who bestows gifts of kingship on the ruler, the Qba. Further, she is one of many Yoruba goddesses connected with the living rulers of several Yoruba towns and cities where the river Qsun passes through.
