The project studies youth business groups in northern Ethiopia. The business groups were recently established based on government policy to create employment for landless or near-landless youth in rural areas. They established business groups as formal cooperatives with their own bylaws and an elected board. They had to make a business plan that had to be accepted by the local authorities and deliver accounts subject to auditing. The data from the 2019 round was collected during the period January–August 2019 and includes 274 outreach groups in four districts, of which 246 were still active, and 2,427 members from these groups. The collection combines two sources: face-to-face questionnaire interviews in Tigrinya recorded on tablets, and incentivized economic field experiments. This study consists of nine datasets: - MemberSurveyDataWithGroupLeaderData - 2019RiskExperiment - 2019TimePrefExperiment - 2020NumeracyTest - 2020TPPGames - RiskExperiments2019AB - YouthGroupLevelSurvey2019 - YouthGroupMemberSurveyandExperiment2019FirstRound - YouthGroupMemberGenderNumeracy2019SecondRound
