Game Pass Rock Shelter is known for its rock art depicting human figures, animals, and abstract motifs. The paintings are interpreted as part of ritual practices associated with San belief systems. The site also contains archaeological deposits with stone tools and faunal remains. It contributes to understanding symbolic expression, subsistence strategies, and environmental adaptation in prehistoric southern Africa.Game Pass Rock Shelter is part of the listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, 'Maloti-Drakensberg Park'.The Zamani Project seeks to increase awareness and knowledge of tangible cultural heritage in Africa and internationally by creating metrically accurate digital representations of historical sites. Digital spatial data of cultural heritage sites can be used for research and education, for restoration and conservation, and as a record for future generations.
