Artificial Intelligence and Agropreneurship: A Study of Shonga Farm, Kwara State, Nigeria

Many Agropreneurs in Nigeria of today are very concern with efficiency, effectiveness, resilience and sustainability of agricultural ventures, however there have been very low insight on how to bring about these. The study examine the impact of artificial intelligence on agropreneurship with a specific focus on Shonga farm Kwara State, Nigeria. This study aims to ascertain the influence of automated harvesting machine and smart irrigation system. The population of the study is 1000 farmers, with a sample size of 286 derived using Yamane’s formula. Data collection was facilitated through the use of structured questionnaires, analyzed by using partial least square path modelling (PLS-PM) and partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) to determine the cause and effect relationship of the variables of hypothesis stated using Jamovi. The findings of the study revealed that automated harvesting machine significantly influences agropreneurship operation with high R² value 93.5% and AI-driven irrigation systems have significant positive effects on Agropreneurship resilience with the high R² value 87.2% The study concluded that AI technologies are critical enablers of productivity and resilience in agropreneurship. The study recommended that increased investment in AI infrastructure, capacity building for farmers, and policy support to foster wider adoption.
