Assessment of Institutional Support for Artificial Intelligence Integration in Secondary School Science Education: A framework

Chapter Highlights The chapter explains institutional support as a critical condition for the meaningful integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into secondary school science education. It identifies technological infrastructure, leadership, teacher professional development, technical assistance, funding, policy, and stakeholder collaboration as major dimensions of institutional support. It reviews Technology Acceptance Model and Diffusion of Innovations Theory as complementary perspectives for understanding AI adoption in schools. It synthesizes empirical and policy literature on institutional readiness, teacher competence, infrastructure, ethics, and governance of AI in education. It presents a methodological framework and an assessment matrix for evaluating institutional support for AI integration in secondary school science education.
