K'oyaaso Maammo, a musician from Gazda, performs five rhythms on the lyre with only minimal accompanying lyrics in order to teach viewers of the recording to identify these rhythms in other song performances. The five rhythms demonstrated are: 1. Kaa'ooda, 2. Kaldi Baaba, 3. Aakkwase, 4. Baac'a, 5. Woysa K'oyaaso is a potter and a musician playing the lyre and the woysa-flute. K'oyaaso is Dasta Maammo's brother and Mahane Dohanbaabo's husband. Mahane is a potter and a musician playing the lyre and the woysa-flute. Mahane is Tal'ane Abusho's cousin, Masarat Dohanbaabo's younger sister and K'oyaaso Maammo's wife. Yvonne Treis is a linguist and works on Ethiopian languages at CNRS in France.
