This deposit contains the de-identified interview dataset and analysis code from the study “Dibatag (Ammodorcas clarkii) at the edge: community sightings, habitat notes, and conservation priorities in southern Somalia” (2024–2025). Data were collected via a grid-structured local ecological knowledge (LEK) survey across nine southern Somali regions (Bakool, Bay, Galgaduud, Gedo, Hiiran, Lower Juba, Lower Shabelle, Middle Juba, Mudug). The dataset includes respondent reports of current presence, perceived status (Common/Rare/Extinct/Never), human–wildlife interaction, basic demographics, brief habitat notes, and georeferenced locations (WGS84) generalized to protect communities and a sensitive species. The accompanying R script reproduces the core analyses: agreement metrics (Cohen’s κ, Somers’ D, Goodman–Kruskal γ), binomial GAMs with spatial smooths, GLMM baselines, and map outputs.
