In this article, we propose to establish a chronology of dating the Algeria economic cycle and the study of its characteristics. The adoption of Bry-Boschan's non-parametric approach to the Algerian production index allowed us to extract the reference cycle and the growth cycle of the Algerian economy over the period 1992 to 2016. The results obtained show that, for the reference cycle, there is little relationship between the expansion phase and the severity of the previous recession and its subsequent influence. For the growth cycle, it is broadly related to the socio-economic events that the country has gone through during this period.
