This study examines the impact of extreme temperatures on HIV-related outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa. Employing nationally representative data from the Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (PHIA) surveys, and the high-resolution climate data from ERA5 with individual-level health outcomes, the study focuses on key HIV indicators including viral load suppression, antiretroviral detection, and recent HIV infection. The analysis also assesses secondary outcomes including intimate partner violence, transactional sex, and household hunger. Temperature exposures are defined using standardized Z-scores and wet bulb globe temperature over varying pre-survey windows. Findings will contribute to understanding climate-health relationship and inform policy on climate adaptation in health systems, especially in the Global South.
