This project uses alternative data to analyze economic activity, business dynamics, and spatial inequality in Egypt, including gender inequality. It develops indicators such as nighttime lights, business activity measures, and spatial datasets, alongside a Gender Equality Survey, to support economic analysis for the Egypt Country Memorandum # Understanding Egypt's Economy through Alternative Data The MENA MTI team is preparing the Egypt Country Economic Memorandum (CEM) and other reports that monitor trends in the Egyptian economy.
