Green and Secure Logistics Hub Location in Egypt: A Reproducible GIS-MCDM Synthetic Benchmark

This method article validates a transparent multi-criteria decision framework for comparing green and secure logistics-hub candidates in Egypt. Eight named candidate regions were evaluated on nine synthetic benefit and cost criteria covering connectivity, market and port access, intermodal potential, reverse logistics, security, resilience, emissions, and land cost. Balanced TOPSIS ranked Damietta first (score=0.573), followed by Beni Suef and Qena. However, rankings changed materially under a market-efficiency weighting scenario, while green-heavy, security-resilience, balanced, and entropy-derived rankings were more strongly correlated. The exercise validates data transformation, weighting, TOPSIS scoring, and sensitivity-analysis steps. It does not provide an investment recommendation because all criterion values are synthetic and approximate candidate labels do not represent surveyed sites.
