Protocol 3 As part of GDAR project, this protocol covers work package 10 (WP10) which describes and analysis food and COVID-19 environment. WP10 Will explore the role of chamas (informal savings groups) in promoting household food security in the context and aftermath of the pandemic in Kenya. We will conduct repeat household and individual surveys (baseline data collected in 2019) in two study areas, Kisumu and Homabay, assessing food shopping practices, dietary behaviours, physical activity patterns and nutritional status. Concurrently we will conduct a repeat audit of the local foodscape (baseline data collected in 2019) to assess how this changed over the course of the pandemic. Finally, we will collect quantitative and qualitative data on chama membership to explore how chamas might be leveraged to improve access to healthy food
