This paper demonstrates the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) for the student-centred teaching and learning utilizing an integrated computer-aided learning program (CALP) with the aid of LOOP PRO® TRAINER solution for academics in Process Dynamics and Control (CHEN502), which is basically one of the pioneering works on PBL projects for new learning pedagogies in Engineering Education at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. A cohort of 94, 103, and 128 students were taught CHEN 502 for three (3) consecutive second semesters of 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011 sessions, respectively. Survey questionnaires were administered to the cohorts of students. The candidates were asked to indicate how they strongly agree or disagree, most likely or unlikely acquired the skills and attributes of what led to their successes and failures in CHEN 502 due to the introduction of CALP for PBL, make comparisons between the CALP for PBL and the traditional techniques for teaching and learning CHEN 502, freely comment, and lastly draw a conclusion about their overall satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the introduction of the programme. The results of 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 are presented. It can be inferred from the implemented PBL that most of the course learning outcomes were accomplished by the candidates as shown in the survey responses.
