This policy brief reports the findings of an eighteen-month research project funded by the British Academy that sought to investigate how climate change is affecting women subsistence farmers in Kasese District, women displaced by climate change in Mbale Districts and women refugees in Adjumani. The research also investigated the strategies women use to cope to climate crisis, gaps in policy and practice, and priority actions needed to localise climate and gender policy in Uganda. The Localising National Gender and Climate Policy project was delivered in partnership between Nottingham Trent University, Makere University and the Women’s International Peace Centre.
