Cancer remains a major public health problem especially in Sub-Saharan Africa where provision of health care is poor. This is also exacerbated by demographic transitions and changes in life-style behaviors experienced by this region especially in the new millennium. To address the problem and improve health care for cancer victims, it is important to have reliable data on the burden of the disease. The objective of this study is to provide a scoping review protocol to highlight gaps in literature regarding the burden of most common cancers in SSA: cervical, breast, and prostate cancer.
