This report constitutes the outcome of a three-weeks capacity building activity on GEP-OnSSET as part of the 2026 Energy Modelling Platform for Africa workshop. The author collected input data, set parameters, calibrated the model, and ran electrification investment scenarios for Madagascar in order to explore pathways leading to the achievement of electrification targets. The results of this analysis are not conclusive, but rather the output of experimentation with the model and thus only indicative. You may contact the author for more information and/or questions about the methodology, limitations, and follow-up activities of this study.
