This scoping review was warranted to comprehensively explore, map, and synthesize the existing literature on pregnancy-specific anxiety screening tools used or validated in the Ethiopian context. This evidence synthesis approach is appropriate because of the emerging nature of the evidence, the diversity of study designs, and the absence of a registered review protocol. By identifying the types of screening tools available, their psychometric properties, contexts of use, and existing research gaps, this review informs future research, tool adaptation, and policy development aimed at improving maternal mental health screening and care in Ethiopia.
