Despite the global recognition of aphrodisiac usage and its implications, there is a critical gap in the literature concerning how this issue manifests among AYA in Africa. While primary studies exist, there has been no attempt to map existing studies on the prevalence and determinants of aphrodisiac use among AYA in African. This lack of synthesized evidence may hinder the development of effective and context-specific interventions including health promotion strategies and policy responses tailored to the needs and experiences of African youth. This scoping review aims to map existing evidence on the prevalence and determinants of aphrodisiac use among African AYA. This review will help inform future studies and systematic reviews. The findings will also guide policy makers, healthcare practitioners and specialists on education in school settings.
