We propose to question the passage from saying to doing in "murderous discourses", a term similar to that of "genocidal discourses" adopted by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, that is, discourses which, in a given political and social context, can lead to the perpetration of mass murders. In his book on murderous languages, Jean-Pierre Faye shows that events can be considered from the discursive chains that accompany them and from which they are inseparable. These discursive chains that make history weave the thickness of events, but also prepare them. In certain circumstances, discourses get carried away, lead to and then accompany violent action, with a regime of discourse that cleaves, destroys, and calls for murder, from propaganda discourses to legitimation discourses. This regime of discourse was analyzed by Victor Klemperer in his work on the LTI, the language of the Third Reich. Our purpose here is to question the inciting or propaganda discourses that may have led to the perpetration of mass murders, using the example of the genocide of the Tutsis that took place in Rwanda in 1994, and thereby to reflect on the relationship between saying and doing by questioning the elements that may contribute to the performativity of these discourses. After defining what we mean by "performativity" and questioning in this perspective the tension between saying and doing, we will highlight some characteristics that allow this passage to take place, from a plurisemiotic point of view.
