This is a replication dataset for the manuscript titled: "Delayed seasonality but consistent age burden: RSV epidemiology pre-, during and post-COVID-19 pandemic on the Kenyan Coast (2008-2026)."
The main dataset is part of long-term surveillance of RSV among children under 5 year admitted to KCH. These datasets contain results of samples tested by real-time PCR between 1st Jan 2008 and 31st Jan 2026. Aside from the samples tested and results of the tests, it also contains the patients’ sociodemographic characteristics, cycle threshold, discharge outcome, and disease severity. The dataset is used to explore the age distribution, disease severity and seasonal patterns of RSV pre- and post- COVID-19 arrival in Coastal Kenya.
