OverviewThis repository contains the reproducibility package accompanying the manuscript: "Changing cardiovascular disease burden in Somalia, 1990–2023: temporal trends, sex differences, and risk-attributable mortality from the Global Burden of Disease 2023 study." Contents1. S1_Data.csv: Minimal extracted dataset used for the reported analyses.2. S1_Code.py: Python analytical code used for data validation, log-linear regression, Estimated Annual Percentage Change (EAPC) calculations, absolute mortality comparisons, and risk-attributable mortality calculations.3. S1_Table.csv: Complete regression results, including coefficients, standard errors, p-values, confidence intervals, and model-fit statistics (including residual degrees of freedom).4. S1_Table2_RiskChanges.csv: Calculated relative changes in age-standardized mortality attributable to the selected risk factors (1990 vs. 2023).5. S1_AbsoluteDeaths.csv: Absolute cardiovascular death estimates and calculated changes between 1990 and 2023.6. requirements.txt: Python software dependencies required to execute the analytical code.7. S1_README.txt: Documentation describing the dataset, analytical workflow, software requirements, and execution instructions. Data Source and LicensingThe underlying epidemiological estimates were generated by the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2023 study and are publicly accessible through the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) GBD Results Tool. The deposited dataset (S1_Data.csv) contains the extracted data required to reproduce the analyses reported in the manuscript. The analytical code and derived tables in this repository are provided under the CC-BY 4.0 license.
