An illustration of the "nyââr" genre (i.e., statements or conversations about serious matters). The two speakers make statements about the civil strife in Southern Plateau State during the first half of 2004. This project documents the Goemai language (Afroasiatic, Chadic, West Chadic A, Angas-Goemai, Southern branch; spoken in Central Nigeria) in the form of a comprehensive reference grammar, a dictionary and an annotated corpus of natural texts. N. speaks first (in S04NNyoor1), and A. speaks second (in S04ANyoor2).
