This study explored the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Management Information Systems (MIS) in educating adult residing in geographically disadvantaged areas in Oyo State, Nigeria. Four research questions were answered and three hypotheses were tested. Bandura (1986) and Davis (2000) provided theoretical framework for understanding the role of AI-powered MIS in educating adult. A mixed-methods research design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches involving questionnaire, focus group discussions and in-depth interviews were the data collection instruments. A sample of 400 adult learners was selected using stratified random sampling technique in rural, urban and border communities. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the collected data. Reliability and validity were ensured. It was revealed that 240(60%) respondents had access to AI-powered MIS, 180(45%) and 120(30%) were somewhat effective and very effective; 100(25%) had limited access to ICT devices; 80(20%) had limited connectivity. 180(45%) felt there was need to increase access to ICT devices another 120(30%) felt that connectivity should be improved. AI-powered MIS was effective in improving the knowledge and skills of adult and a significant positive correlation existed between AI-powered MIS use and perceived effectiveness in the study area. The study recommended that Oyo State Government should develop and implement AI-powered MIS in geographically disadvantaged areas. Educator, researcher and policymaker should be trained on use of AI-powered MIS. Further research should be conducted to evaluate the long-term impact of Artificial Intelligence-powered Management Information System on access to quality education.
