The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics is reshaping the educational landscape, particularly in technical fields such as Technical Education and Engineering. This study investigates the opportunities, challenges, and future directions associated with AI and Robotics integration into Nigerian tertiary institutions offering Technical/ Engineering programs. Using a quantitative survey involving 150 respondents, findings revealed a significant gap between awareness and practical deployment of AI-driven teaching tools. While 85% of respondents were aware of AI/ Robotics technologies, only 40% had used AI simulation tools and 30% had engaged with robotics kits, highlighting a major disparity between knowledge and application, In addition, infrastructural deficits, outdated curricula and lack of technical expertise were identified as the core barriers to implementation. The study proposes a dynamic framework to foster AI adoption, addresses barriers, and highlights strategic recommendations. The outcomes are crucial for policymakers, educators, and technology developers aiming to transform Nigerian technical education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
