A description of various children's games: how they are played, and why they are important. This session contains the following parts: (1) A description of "T'at mat", as played by the Kwo Goemai (by A.) (D04ATatmat1) (2) A description of "T'at mat", as played by the Dorok Goemai (by N.) (D04NTatmat2) (3) A description of "Kalanga", as played by the Dorok Goemai (by N.) (D04NKalanga1) (4) A description of "Kalanga", as played by the Kwo Goemai (by A.) (D04AKalanga2) (5) A discussion of the importance of children's games (by N.) This project documents the Goemai language (Afroasiatic, Chadic, West Chadic A, Angas-Goemai, Southern branch; spoken in Central Nigeria) in the form of a comprehensive reference grammar, a dictionary and an annotated corpus of natural texts. A. and N. take turns to describe the games, as they are played in the Kwo and Dorok areas respectively.
