names SemN Documentation of Goemai

A description of the naming ceremony, and of different Goemai names. The planning was done on 2004-05-04, the recording on 2004-05-05. This session contains the following parts: (1) Planning stage (dialogue between A. and N.). (2) Description of the naming ceremony. (3) Description of names (part 1). (4) Description of names (part 2). This project documents the Goemai language (Afroasiatic, Chadic, West Chadic A, Angas-Goemai, Southern branch; spoken in Central Nigeria) in the form of a comprehensive reference grammar, a dictionary and an annotated corpus of natural texts. A. and N. both participate equally in the dialogue of the planning stage. N. is the main narrator in the descriptions, while A. listens. See SemA for more examples of Goemai names.
