Communication gouvernementale à l’épreuve du Covid 19 : cas du Togo

Communication around Covid-19 has been mostly of major concern since the health crisis caused by this virus is a public health issue. In this sense, its management has put a strain on the governmental and, by extension, democratic systems governing countries. Based on a description method and an analysis of the various communicative acts (government press releases, mainly decrees) from the perspective of organizational communication approaches (ACO), this article focuses on the government communication in Togo during this period from March 2020 to September 2021. On the one hand, it reveals the predominance of information over communication. On the other hand, it shows how, gradually, pedagogy has given way to symbolic violence during the implementation of certain measures thus revealing the type of governance practiced in this country.
