Community-based surveillance (CBS) engages trained community members to detect and report early signs of infectious diseases, enabling faster public health response. Globally proven in low-resource settings, CBS helps bridge gaps between communities and health systems. In Bangladesh, it strengthens outbreak preparedness and documents national implementation experience for future scale-up.
