2024 was a historic year for democracy with elections in more than 60 countries – accounting for more than half the world’s population. The Path to Power project undertook qualitative and quantitative analysis of elections in nine countries across the globe – the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Mexico, Mozambique, Georgia and South Africa. This report contains the justificatory framework for the mixed-methods methodologies used across the series, an overview of the key research insights gleaned from the reports and a glossary of key terms.
