The objective of this paper is to study the contribution of digitalization to the management of risks related to road transport. To achieve this, we opt for a qualitative approach. The data is collected using an interview guide administered to a target consisting of 7 personnel in service within the Ministry of Transport and the Road Transport Service. The results, resulting from the content analysis (manual and automated via Nvivo 10), show that digitalization contributes favorably to the management of risks related to road transport at two levels: firstly, that artificial intelligence through CAMTRACK- MTN and RADARDS, plays a decisive role in the prevention of road risks related to road transport (P1). Secondly, it is established that the Internet of Things, through digital devices PROOTAG CATIS, Le Pont-Bascule, TRANSDOC, GPS, cameras, etc., also contributes to the security of activities related to road transport. From these results, the main recommendation is that upstream, measures must be taken by public policies for the rehabilitation, maintenance, control of the proper functioning of the digital tools put in place, as well as continuous awareness-raising. or even the imposition of vehicle digitization on road transport players. Downstream, support measures for road transport companies must also be taken and focused on subsidies or the development of strategies in this sector, with the aim of reducing the costs associated with the acquisition of digital equipment associated with transport.
