Drones and AI revolutionise wildlife conservation Innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, and global partnerships, are transforming wildlife conservation and protection practices in Kenya. At the heart of Kenya, the WildDrone project is merging biology, technology, and engineering to revolutionize wildlife conservation. Led by researchers from the University of Southern Denmark, the initiative employs autonomous drones and advanced AI systems to monitor animal populations, track migration patterns, and map habitats. This approach is non-invasive and highly scalable, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods like GPS collars or camera traps, while significantly minimizing stress on the animals.
