Over the past two decades, sustainability has garnered attention in business and academia. However, more is needed to know about how telecommunication benefits from sustainable development. This thesis investigates sustainability practices in telecommunications, focusing on MTN Nigeria. The study analyses the factors influencing best practices using qualitative methods, structured and semi-structured interviews with MTN Nigeria and Nigeria Communication Commission, and sustainability report data. Findings reveal challenges hindering adoption, including industrial constraints and energy shortages. The study underscores the need for enhanced sustainability practices in Nigerian telecommunication, providing insights for industry improvement. A unique sustainability model for thetelecommunication sector is proposed, contributing to the broader sustainability literature. The study emphasizes the Triple Bottom Line and its impact on best practices in Nigeria's telecommunication, offering a valuable model for industry enhancement and guiding future research.
