Inclusión y Diversidad en Educación. 10 años de Investigación en Educación Especial

International audience The project is based on previous studies conducted in culturally diverse family and school contexts, where the emergence of language in the primary socialization of middle-class children in Santiago and rural Mapuche communities in Araucanía has been investigated. It has been observed that the Mapuche family context provides children with greater autonomy, opportunities to share and solve problems, which translates into more advanced cognitive and attitudinal learning than would be expected in young children according to the dominant Chilean cultural perspective. However, upon entering school, the previously developed autonomy is reduced, making their problem-solving skills invisible and showing a clash between the logics of Mapuche family socialization and school culture. The objective of the research is to unveil the knowledge systems about learning and education of Mapuche and Aymara families in Chile and compare them with those of the dominant culture. Through interviews, focus groups and workshops, the aim is to jointly build an Intercultural Dimension for the official curriculum that articulates the shared conceptions, translating them into relevant thematic axes for kindergarten and primary education. This process proposes guidelines and strategies to develop a dialogue between cultures, turning the public school into a true space for intercultural encounter and construction. Inclusión y Diversidad en Educación. 10 años de Investigación en Educación Especial es una obra que refleja el compromiso riguroso y sostenido de académicos/as e investigadores/as del Departamento de Educación Diferencial de la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación, quienes a lo largo de una década, han abordado con profundidad comunidades y sensibilidad temas clave como la formación docente, la inclusión de estudiantes con discapacidad, especialmente con Trastorno del Espectro Autista, y la educación intercultural bilingüe en indígenas. Esta obra destaca las complejidades y tensiones entre saberes oficiales y culturales, proponiendo enfoques que promueven diálogos interculturales auténticos y políticas educativas más inclusivas. Además, ofrece un análisis crítico de las barreras estructurales en la educación superior y subraya el papel fundamental del docente tutor en la construcción de ambientes educativos equitativos. Esta recopilación constituye un aporte académico sólido y pertinente, que contribuye significativamente al avance de una educación más justa, diversa y respetuosa de las Múltiples identidades presentes en Chile.
