Infectious disease surveillance, early warning systems, and climate change in Africa. A scoping review to assess how climate change is considered in national surveillance systems

Climate change is affecting diseases transmission and spread (vector-borne and waterborne), adding to the existing strains on the health system. Developing monitoring and early warning systems (EWS) can help manage outbreaks, surveillance and identify and reduce the impact of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and zoonoses. This scoping review will assess the published evidence of the current capacity of the infectious disease surveillance systems to facilitate climate change adaptation in Africa.
