International audience Among Upper Guinea Creoles (UGC), Casamance Creole and Guinea-Bissau Creole are those traditionally spoken in multilingual areas in the mainland (see Nunez 2015), in particular for the erea of Casamance. Casamance Creole speakers and Guinea-Bissau Creole speakers call their Creoles by using the same glossonyms kriyol or even by liŋgu kristoŋ, Christian language, (see Rouge 1985, Kihm 1994, Nunez 2015 and Biagui 2018).On the other hand, terms used by speakers of other linguistic groups to designate both Creole language and its speakers for whom Creole is the first language of socialization (see Nunez 2015 for different groups who speak Casamance Creole) also remain unknown for Casamance Creole as for Guinea-Bissau Creole. The aim of this paper is to describe naming practices linked to Casamance Creole and Guinea Bissau in relation with terms used in the creolistic literature and how it is linked to ideology.
