This is a narrative audio recording in which Darima Maiki tells a story about his son Nomen. In the story, Darima and his wife go out for the day, and Nomen and his friends play the radio in the house even though he was told not to do that. When Darima and his wife come home, Nomen believes he will get in trouble. Nomen goes outside to urinate in the night, and while he is doing that, a dog approaches Darima at the front door. Darima scares the dog away, but Nomen thinks that the commotion is because Darima is angry at him and will punish him. So Nomen sneaks away to sleep at another house. Darima and his wife are up all night searching for Nomen, and they recruit the help of many other people in the village. In the morning, someone finds Nomen sleeping in a mosquito net in a house just down the road. They tell Darima, and they bring Nomen back to the house. Darima has stern words for Nomen, telling him that he kept the whole village up all night long. The recording was made at the residence of Wendy Maiki. Transcription, translation, and discussion of individual word glosses were done by hand in a field notebook, and later entered into ELAN.
