What is ROOT?

ROOT aims to tackle the persistent issue of food insecurity in rural communities in Ghana; often as high as 90% of households do not have safe and sustainable access to a nutritious diet. In many rural areas, surplus food, especially arable crops, often goes to waste due to poor coordination between producers and consumers, limited access to markets, and the absence of timely information on supply and demand at the local level. Contrarily, there are other areas where due to drought, climatic conditions or pests for instance, there is not sufficient food within the community.
