Social and Economic development within the North central region of Nigeria: SMEs Innovation as an Alternative

This pragmatic study critically examines the role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as a strategic alternative for driving social and economic development within the North Central region of Nigeria. The research identifies the transformative potential of SMEs in fostering inclusive growth, reducing unemployment, and addressing systemic development challenges in the region. The study highlights the urgent need for policy reforms to enhance access to funding, capacity building, and infrastructure for SMEs. It concludes that SMEs serve as a catalyst for sustainable socio-economic progress, thereby emphasizing their strategic importance in achieving regional development objectives.
