This deposit contains synthetic datasets designed to replicate the structure and variable types of restricted malaria surveillance data (National Malaria Elimination Programme, NMEP) and climate data (Ghana Meteorological Agency, GMet) used in the GAM(M)-MAP study. Because the original datasets are subject to institutional restrictions and cannot be shared publicly, these synthetic files provide a safe, reproducible substitute for demonstration and testing of the GAM(M)-MAP Shiny dashboard workflow.
The deposit includes two Excel files:
synthetic_malaria_climate.xlsx — monthly malaria case counts and climate variables (maximum temperature, minimum temperature, average temperature, rainfall) for all ten regions of Ghana, 2012–2023.
synthetic_population.xlsx — annual population estimates for all ten regions of Ghana, 2010–2023.
Values in these datasets are artificially generated within realistic ranges to preserve confidentiality, while maintaining the same structure, variable names, and temporal coverage as the restricted data. They are intended solely for demonstration, testing, and reproducibility of the GAM(M)-MAP analytical workflow.
The GAM(M)-MAP code is openly available at GitHub (EdwardAkurugu/GAMM-MAP) and archived on Zenodo (doi:10.5281/zenodo.21897049).
The GAM(M)-MAP dashboard is also available online at masha-app.shinyapps.io
