The study focused on technostress arising from the use of digital health technologies, particularly the Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS). Its main objectives were to determine the level of technostress among nurses, assess their levels of depression, anxiety and stress and examine whether technostress was associated with these psychological outcomes.
Using an analytical cross-sectional design, data were collected from 311 nurses selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Technostress was measured using an adapted 18-item scale, while depression, anxiety and stress were assessed using the DASS-21. The study is expected to provide evidence on how technology-related demands impact nurses’ psychological health and inform improvements in digital system usability, staff training, technical support, psychological support services and policies aimed at making healthcare digitalisation more psychologically sustainable in Ghana.
