In January 2025, the US Government indefinitely paused or cancelled almost all funding for USAID, and revoked existing contracts with most international development and public health organisations around the world. This pre-analysis plan registers anticipated analysis of an in-person survey with citizens and public officials in Malawi to understand the immediate effects of disruption in health aid on morbidity, healthcare access, and social services provision. Additionally, the survey gathers evidence on the likely impacts on local governance, elections, and foreign policy.
